Sozo Trading Co.

Sozo Trading Co. is an upscale thrift store located at 4 41st Street South in Birmingham, Alabama. Established in 2015, the store operates as a nonprofit enterprise supporting Sozo Children, a ministry dedicated to serving orphaned and neglected children in Uganda. Every dollar spent in the store benefits the nonprofit’s work, which includes providing housing, medical care, quality education, and discipleship to 120 children across four children’s homes in Uganda. The store features a curated selection of quality secondhand items including clothing, furniture, and home décor, and also leases vendor booths. The name “Sozo” comes from Greek, meaning “to save” both physically and spiritually.
