On-A-Shoestring Antiques, located at 601 Shades Crest Road in Hoover’s Bluff Park neighborhood, has been a destination for vintage treasures and repurposed architectural elements since its opening in 1982 by Lee and Rodney Thursby. The store occupies a historic home originally constructed during the Great Depression and features a distinctive restored railway caboose from the Nashville, Chattanooga & Saint Louis Railway on its grounds.
