Claremont Packing House

Originally built in 1922 as a citrus packing facility by the College Heights Orange and Lemon Association, the Claremont Packing House at 532 W 1st Street is the last remaining of four historic packing houses that once served the region’s thriving citrus industry. After decades of decline following the closure of local orchards, the building was fully restored in 2005-2007 by the City of Claremont and local developer Arteco Partners, preserving its historic features including three-story sawtooth skylights while transforming it into a vibrant mixed-use destination. Today it houses approximately 20 unique businesses including fine dining restaurants, boutique shops, wine tasting rooms, art galleries, fitness studios, and artisan spaces, serving as the centerpiece of Claremont Village and a landmark community gathering place.
