The Claremont Forum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located at 586 W 1st Street in the historic Claremont Packing House that operates a used bookshop and serves as headquarters for the Prison Library Project, one of the nation’s largest books-to-prisoners programs. Founded in 1985 and celebrating over 40 years of community service, the organization promotes wellness, education, and the arts through its bookshop, a weekly Farmers & Artisans Market, and the Prison Library Project, which has distributed nearly a million books to incarcerated readers nationwide. Proceeds from bookshop sales directly support the organization’s mission of fostering literacy and community connection.
