About

St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County is a nonprofit organization founded in 1938 that provides comprehensive emergency and social services to residents throughout Oakland and Alameda County. Operating the largest emergency shelter in the county open year-round, the organization runs a free dining room serving up to 800 meals daily, workforce and culinary training programs including the Kitchen of Champions, drop-in centers, a clothing closet, thrift stores, and medical clinics. With a network of 800 volunteers known as Vincentians, the organization emphasizes one-to-one assistance and community involvement while serving individuals regardless of origin or affiliation.
