Friends of the Whittier Public Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1964 dedicated to supporting and advocating for the Whittier Public Library. Operating the largest nonprofit bookstore in Southern California, located at 6703 Comstock Avenue in uptown Whittier, the all-volunteer organization raises funds by selling donated books, music, and movies, donating approximately $75,000 annually to support the library’s programming, equipment, and community services including reading programs for children and tweens.
