ReCONNstruction Center

The ReCONNstruction Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located at 65 Burritt Street in New Britain, CT that operates a building materials reuse store dedicated to environmental sustainability. Founded in 2003 by John Powers, the center salvages and resells donated building materials—including fixtures, tile, paint, and plumbing supplies—at affordable prices to average wage earners while keeping materials out of landfills. The center serves urban communities by supporting affordable housing initiatives and environmental conservation, accepting donations from manufacturers, contractors, and the general public, with donors eligible for charitable tax deductions.
