Wrights Barn & Flea Market
About
Wright’s Barn & Flea Market, located at 104 Wright Road in Torrington, Connecticut, is a historic marketplace housed in a former dairy barn that was originally built to serve Connecticut’s dairy farming industry from the 1930s to 1950s. After operating as the Wright’s Country Club, a popular teenage dance venue from 1965 to 1975, John and Millie Wright opened the flea market in 1980 and expanded it to include a second floor. Currently managed by Jim Wright, the market features over 40 dealer spaces with both long-term vendors and rotating dealers specializing in antiques, collectibles, furniture, jewelry, vintage items, and period reproduction pieces. The barn is listed on Connecticut’s State Register of Historic Places and has become a community-oriented destination that preserves local history while serving a diverse clientele of collectors, nostalgia seekers, and younger shoppers interested in sustainable thrifting. In addition to the flea market, Wright’s Barn operates an on-site café featuring homemade food and baked goods, and the owners actively engage with the community by hosting events and encouraging vendors and patrons to share knowledge and stories about the items and the barn’s historical significance.
