ISLAND-BOY is a lifestyle boutique and LGBTQ+ AAPI-owned small business located in Honolulu’s Kaimukī neighborhood at 3464 Waialae Avenue. Founded in 2018 as a curated retail shop in Rhode Island, the business relocated to Honolulu in 2020, where owner Andrew Mau is originally from, before moving to its current spacious 1,500-square-foot storefront in Kaimukī in 2023. The shop specializes in high-quality gifts, home goods, vintage items, and fresh floral and lei arrangements sourced from local artists, artisans, makers, and designers, with many product lines exclusive to ISLAND-BOY. The business is deeply committed to supporting small brands and designers while maintaining sustainable practices, such as using recycled and upcycled packing materials, and offers complimentary gift wrapping and expert product education rather than discounts, prioritizing fair compensation for vendors and artisans.
