The Rusty Trunk, 875 Kootenai Cutoff, Ponderay Idaho And The Rusty Trunk 6127 Main Street in Bonners Ferry

The Rusty Trunk is a multi-vendor antique store specializing in vintage furniture, home décor, antiques, art, and gifts, with two locations in Idaho at 875 Kootenai Cutoff Road in Ponderay and 6127 Main Street in Bonners Ferry. Founded by Julia Kern, who has been passionate about antiques since childhood and runs estate sales through Gypsy Girl Estate Sales, the business opened its first location in Ponderay in fall 2023 in partnership with Jan Christians of Annie Orchard’s Antiques, followed by the Bonners Ferry location on Valentine’s Day 2024. The Ponderay store occupies a former veterinary clinic with unique nooks and crannies, while the Bonners Ferry location is housed in the former Carter Country building, featuring space for approximately 24 vendors who each receive designated areas to design and display their merchandise. Operating as a faith-based company, The Rusty Trunk treats vendors as family and hosts community events, including special appraisal days with antique experts, while remaining open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
