Beyond the Thrift is a federally recognized nonprofit thrift store located at 1211 North Madison Avenue Suite J in Greenwood, Indiana. The store, which opened in December 2023, sells a diverse selection of clothing for women, men, and children, along with housewares, shoes, books, and home décor items. The business evolved from owner Kim Rose’s e-commerce and reselling operation and transitioned into retail with the store’s opening. Beyond the Thrift operates on a donation-based model and channels inventory excess to support community organizations, having donated over 250 winter coats to local charities, classroom supplies to teachers, and medical supplies to those in need. The store also partners with nonprofit organizations like Changing Footprints to distribute shoes to homeless populations and Wheeler Mission, while supporting Johnson County Senior Services and other community initiatives. The business has been recognized as the neighborhood favorite store on Nextdoor for Greenwood and earned a Google Fan Favorite designation.
