Overflow Thrift Store

Overflow Thrift Store is a nonprofit organization operating multiple locations in Ames, Iowa, dedicated to recycling and reselling affordable goods to support people in need locally and globally. Founded nearly ten years ago, the organization has distributed over $830,000 to various charitable organizations and individuals across central Iowa, including donations to The Bridge Home, Wings of Refuge, Boys & Girls Clubs of Story County, and numerous other community organizations. The store offers a variety of merchandise including clothing, furniture, and vintage items at budget-friendly prices. Overflow operates locations at 202 S Duff Ave and 919 E Lincoln Way in Ames, with the Lincoln Way location opening as part of a capital expansion project designed to increase the organization’s community giving and environmental recycling efforts.
