Hope Chest Thrift Store

Hope Chest Thrift Store is a nonprofit thrift store located at 1003 N. 18th Street in Centerville, Iowa, dedicated to enhancing the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families in the community. Operating as Southern Iowa’s largest thrift ministry, the store offers vintage items, collectibles, gently used clothing, and household goods at low cost. All proceeds from the store fund the free faith-based counseling services provided by the New Hope Counseling Center. Beyond retail operations, Hope Chest is actively involved in the community through programs including an annual Back to School Giveaway providing free backpacks and school supplies, a Christmas Shopping Day for children, job interview preparation workshops, and a work program for those needing additional support. The store also partners with local organizations and nonprofits to provide volunteer opportunities and supports various community service initiatives, including collecting donations for disaster relief and supporting individuals facing health challenges.
