Rumors Vintage

Rumors is a vintage clothing and accessories shop located at 4211 Chamberlain Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa, founded in 2019 by owner Allison Lyons. The shop specializes in curated men’s and women’s vintage pieces from the early 1900s through the 1990s, with a particular emphasis on items made from natural fibers and manufactured in the USA, including styles in workwear, casual clothing, western wear, and classic Americana. With over 1,000 square feet of retail space and approximately 800 vintage pieces on display at any given time, Rumors has grown significantly since opening and also features a selection of vintage film cameras. The shop shares its location with RPM, a vintage vinyl and hi-fi stereo shop, creating a unique conjoined retail experience. Additionally, Rumors hosts Heartland Bazaar, a bi-annual vintage clothing market featuring 30 unique vendors that brings community members together around shared interests in vintage fashion.
