A Ripple Effect is a family-owned and operated fair trade gift shop located at 491 W 4th Street in historic Cable Car Square in downtown Dubuque, Iowa. Originally opened in 2008 by Patty Jackson, a retired teacher, the shop has been operated by its current family owners since May 2024, offering handmade gifts and local artisan products sourced from around the globe. The shop’s mission centers on fair trade principles, empowering farmers and workers worldwide by ensuring fair wages and ethical working conditions while supporting local community partnerships.
