Freeport Community Services Thrift Shop
About
The Freeport Community Services Thrift Shop, located at 53 Depot Street in Freeport, Maine, was established in 1975 and originally operated under the name “The Clothes Tree.” As the most profitable division of Freeport Community Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the thrift shop serves as a primary revenue source for the organization’s community programs and services. The shop offers a carefully curated selection of gently used and vintage clothing, footwear, housewares, furniture, collectibles, and household items, with an emphasis on maintaining in-season inventory. All proceeds from the thrift shop support Freeport Community Services’ mission to connect residents of Freeport and Pownal, Maine with essential support services including food assistance, fuel, emergency aid, and community resources. The shop accepts donations of gently used items and maintains regular operating hours with special events such as monthly “$3 Thrifty Thursday” sales.
