Thrifty Threads

Thrifty Threads is a volunteer-run nonprofit thrift store located at 210 Harvard Street inside United Parish in Brookline, Massachusetts. Since opening in 1993, the store has served the local community by offering secondhand men’s and women’s clothing, jewelry, shoes, purses, and household items at affordable prices. Operating only on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m., Thrifty Threads distributes all proceeds from sales to support United Parish’s outreach and social justice programs. The store plays a significant role in community support beyond retail sales—more than half of the donations received are distributed to nonprofit partners serving people experiencing homelessness, job training programs, and family service organizations, helping to keep gently used items out of landfills while providing dignity and essentials to those in need.
