STEP Thrift Store and Donation Center

STEP Thrift Store and Donation Center, located at 35004 West Michigan Avenue in Wayne, Michigan, is a nonprofit thrift store and donation center owned and operated by Services To Enhance Potential (STEP). Established in June 2007, the store serves as a community-based business enterprise dedicated to training and employing individuals with developmental and mental disabilities, with proceeds from sales and donations supporting programs that benefit STEP members and provide vocational services to over 1,000 individuals in Washtenaw and Wayne counties. The store accepts donations of gently used clothing, household items, and miscellaneous goods during designated donation hours, and shoppers can receive tax credits for their contributions. STEP has expanded its operations over the years, opening additional locations in Southgate in 2011 and Dearborn in 2016, all operating with the mission of providing supported employment opportunities and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.
