Black Rabbit Vintage is a true vintage clothing boutique located at 2800 McNair Avenue in the Benton Park West neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Founded by owner and sole employee Madelyn Lumpe in October 2021, the store specializes in authentic vintage apparel and accessories primarily from the 1950s through 1980s, though some items date back further, including pieces from the 1860s. The shop is organized by type and color rather than gender or size, creating an inclusive shopping environment that welcomes customers of all backgrounds. Lumpe sources and curates the inventory herself, including a collection of vintage wedding dresses from the 1920s available by appointment, and provides alteration and repair services for vintage garments. The store also maintains deep community ties, as evidenced by community support following a significant loss when a fire destroyed the St. Liborius Church building where Lumpe stored a portion of her inventory in 2023.
