Bargain John’s Antiques is a family-owned and operated antique store located at 700 Washington Boulevard in Lexington, Nebraska, specializing in quality American antiques from the 1840s to 1930s. Founded in 1968 by John and Annette Ostrom, the business began as the Poor-Man’s Friend Antiques and Second Hand Store operated from their home before expanding to a 5,000-square-foot building in 1972. The store’s inventory includes Victorian furniture, Arts and Crafts items, art glass, fine pottery, porcelain, cut glass, dolls, toys, quilts, cast iron items, and advertising pieces. Today, the business is operated by the second generation, with John’s son Lars Ostrom and his wife Joni managing operations, while John continues to serve as the shop’s main antique buyer, traveling extensively throughout the United States.
