Fairmont Mercantile
About
Fairmont Mercantile is an eclectic vintage and antique store located at 1209 Jackson Street in Omaha’s historic Old Market neighborhood, established in 2007. The business offers a diverse collection of items including movie memorabilia, antiques, home decor, vintage records, books, vintage comics, and an arcade with classic pinball machines and board games. The store also features a retro diner called Fairmont Diner that serves as an ice cream shop and vintage lunch counter with a soda fountain. The mercantile was built inside one of Omaha’s oldest buildings, the original Fairmont Dairy building, and is owned and operated by Larry Richling and his wife, Mary, who combined Larry’s lifelong interests in cinema, antiques, and food to create the unique retail experience. The shop has become one of Omaha’s notable attractions, drawing both local residents and tourists seeking a nostalgic shopping and dining destination.
