R.S. Butler’s Trading Company is a family-owned antique shop located at 102 First NH Turnpike in Northwood, New Hampshire, along the well-known Antique Alley on Route 4. Established in spring 1991 as a Saturday barn sale by Colleen and Don Pingree, the business has grown into one of the largest antiques shops in New Hampshire, now occupying over 3,200 square feet in the main shop plus an additional 2,000 square feet in a two-story barn. The shop specializes in a diverse inventory including mid-century furniture and accessories, vintage and antique clothing, records and music memorabilia, traditional antiques, architectural and garden antiques, and eclectic home décor items spread across pink barns. As a sole proprietorship, the Pingrees own all inventory and operate as the shopkeepers, allowing them to provide customers with detailed histories of items and negotiate pricing. The business was recognized as one of 2024 New Hampshire Magazine’s winners in the Arts & Culture category and remains open seven days a week, welcoming both casual browsers and serious collectors seeking unique vintage and antique treasures.
