Grapevine Vintage Railroad Turntable
About
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad Turntable is a pivotal operational component of the Grapevine Vintage Railroad located at 705 S. Main Street in Grapevine, Texas, near the historic Cotton Belt Depot. This century-old turntable, originally salvaged from a Santa Fe Railroad facility in Saginaw, Texas, is used to reverse the direction of locomotives—particularly the 1896 steam locomotive “Puffy”—during heritage train excursions. Owned and operated by the City of Grapevine, the turntable plays a crucial role in enabling the railroad’s historic train rides and contributes to the Cotton Belt Railroad Industrial Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
